Playful, yet still firmly rooted in the everyday, Goldsmiths MA graduate Tilde Snyder's SS17 presentation aptly took place on the Overground going from New Cross to Dalston.
Models with Oysters in hand took over the train in vibrant fabrics and eye-popping crotchet. The word "Reclaimed" often conjures ideas of hideously mumsy outfits, but Tilde uses vintage and found fabrics to create clothes suitably individual for the South-London students that inspire her work. Whilst the clothes are seemingly over-the-top, on the Overground service they are very fitting, the models looking just like a group of students on their way out. The slightly-worn orange seats of the tube were mirrored in the colours of the crotchet blanket-scarves and crotchet bras. Despite the handmade finish there’s nothing kitsch about TILDE, just a collection which doesn’t try too hard but is still genuinely exciting.
