Designer Irina Gusakova puts practicality at the heart of her a/w 17 collection, focusing on purpose and function.
Glasgow-based designer Irina Gusakova's latest collection provides comfort yet durability, concentrating on the main purpose of fashion: to work, live and play. Combining high-quality fabrication with craftsmanship, the designer aims to re-invent your wardrobe essentials by paying close attention to the quality of finishings and prints. Crinkled wool shirts, waterproof Macs, embossed silk tops and raglan sleeve coats are lined with subtle optical prints, whilst others are rendered in water-resistant wool.
“The desire for launching a label stemmed from my fascination with the high quality of construction and the meticulous attention to the detailing and finishing of men's garments.”
For the lookbook, Gusakova collaborates with photographer Mustafa Sarwar, casting models that reflect the brands understated identity, youthful feel and effortless approach to fashion.
